Taking Action for Animals 2008 (held July 19-21, 2008) was a huge success thanks to nearly 1,000 advocates who came from across the country and world to take part in the premier conference of the animal advocacy movement.

We had a great time! Check out pictures from the conference and upload your own to flickr (don't forget to tag them tafa2008).

TAFA attendees came through for Prop 2! During the three-day event TAFA attendees donated more than $3,000 toward the YES on Prop 2 campaign to help make history for farm animals. The initiative will appear on California's statewide ballot this November and would phase out inhumane confinement of farm animals in tiny crates and cages where they don't even have enough space to turn around and extend their limbs. For more information and to donate visit YesonProp2.com.

Revisit the Conference

Did you miss the conference or would you like to revisit it? Read a play-by-play report on TAFA’s highlights at Twitter. Also, purchase individual workshops or the entire conference on CD or MP3. Special conference pricing will be good through August 19, 2008.

What Attendees Are Saying

"This was my first animal activist seminar and IT KICKED A**! I was so inspired. I have been into animal rights for about 20 years but this weekend was my first real step. I feel so empowered. I have been an 'armchair activist' but feel ready to jump in. I wanted to thank HSUS and TAFA for providing me with the opportunity to gain this knowledge, learn, and grow as an activist."

"I learned a lot more than I knew coming into the event, and am now able to educate people first hand on many more welfare issues on animals… I know TAFA made a difference in my life."

Save the Date

We hope to see you next year at Taking Action for Animals 2009! Save the date, and don’t miss it
